I am a Primary School teacher and CEO of a Nail Company. Graduating from university with a First Class Honours and gaining an award for volunteering my time to the community has inspired me to join ADC. In my free time, I enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures, shopping and going to the gym. Being a teacher, I understand the need to improve the well-being of children and communities in Africa by championing an increase access to essential public services. I am excited to be part of this organisation and empower communities and leaders in Africa.
I was drawn to ADC because of it’s unique Three-Step Approach to development which empowers African communities to fight poverty in the long-term. My experience as a teacher and playworker means I understand the importance of a safe, supportive and stimulating play environment for developing social skills and confidence in children. As such, I believe ADC’s initiative to bring playground facilities to schools and communal spaces will make a real difference to the lives of children and communities in Africa.
I graduated from Oxford University this summer with a 2:1 in History and Politics. At uni, I became obsessed with African Politics and I hope to continue studying it through a masters at SOAS after my 'Gap Year'. I am currently working in a travel PR firm while I raise some money to go travelling in South America. I have enjoyed using the skills I obtain at my day job to help build relationships with influencers and potential sponsors via Social Media. I love the ethos of ADC and its special approach to African Development, particularly its emphasis on better resource distribution which I know from my studies is a key cause of poverty on the continent. ADC is a vibrant community seeking to make change and do good. I love being a part of that and spreading the word to get others involved too.
I've joined ADC because i'm passionate about helping people and I have the need to give something back. I believe the world can be a better place and everyone deserve having equal opportunities. I am a Behaviour Change Executive - I'm developing and implementing social marketing strategies to promote sustainability across various communities. In the last couple of years I've got interested in graphic design and in my free time I'm working on small projects that allow me to further develop my skills in this field. Apart from this, I love travelling and exploring new countries and cultures. I'm also a huge film and music fan.
