I was attracted to ADC because they're helping needy children in a country experiencing much corruption. My husband, who is originally from India, has experienced similar corruption, so I can empathize. I recently have helped non-profits with recruiting, and I also have many years of IT experience since receiving a BBA with a computer science focus. Other than enjoying outings, TV, and traveling with my husband, three daughters, and friends, I enjoy singing and church-related activities.
I wanted to use my skills and CIPD qualification to give something back and when i read about ADC and saw that they were looking for a HR volunteer, i knew i would be helping a charity that i believe can really make a difference to the children and communities of Africa, this makes me very happy. I am a Retail Store Manager with over 9 years of management experience. I adore spending time with my fiance, family, friends and my cat Indie. I am also a huge fan of music and enjoy music festivals and shows. I adore reading too, anything and everything.
The mission of African Development Choices to develop elementary school and community deeply touched my heart. It was one of my dream to help needy children and provide them what they deserve for their growth and better life. By profession I am attorney, and worked as Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant and HR Assistant but its my pleasure to join ADC team and be a part of such a remarkable mission. In my free time I love to do meditation, art and spend time with my Children. I also enjoy reading and play badminton.
I was inspired to join African Development Choices because of its mission and values in improving the well-being of children and communities in Africa. I am qualified as a Solicitor but work in the HR team as a HR volunteer. I also work as a volunteer case worker elsewhere helping people with employment law problems. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit, reading magazines, making cards and sewing.
I have always to wanted to volunteer to a charity in some capacity and when I saw what ADC commitments were to changing the lives of children in Africa it inspired me to join. I am a retail manager, every day is different and challenging! I love cars, and anything vintage. Vintage fashion, music and lifestyle. I also love animals and have 2 cats, 2 chinchillas and a tortoise.
I joined ADC because I believe in the cause, it is empowering and giving time to ADC is hugely rewarding. I am extremely organised, task focused and people orientated. I have a can-attitude that I demonstrate daily which gets tasks done. I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, reading books and shopping.
